Went here for my birthday dinner the food and service was amazing! We will definitely be returning!
First of all, the staff were friendly and speedy. A couple minutes before going here, we had ahi tuna at a different restaurant - and hated it. We came here because my wife was craving a steak and when I saw their ahi tuna appetizer, I decided to try it. BEST DECISION! It was delicious! My Wife ordered the 12 oz New York Strip at medium rare and it came out perfect! The mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery and the vegetables were neither too under-cooked nor over-cooked. Very satisfied with this restaurant and we will come again.
Wow! What an amazing dinner we had! Probably the best restaurant in Big Bear. We had our dog with us and they let us sit on the patio with her, we were a little worried about the service since we were the only ones outside, but they were on top of it! Devin, our server was very attentive and made sure everything turned out good. Anthony, which I assume was the manager, was nothing but kind. The food was absolutely amazing and we had zero complaints. Best food I've had here in Big Bear.
We placed this restaurant on our to-do list from the start of our Big Bear planning! We went our first night and the wait was 1.45 so we decided to make a reservation for the next night which was our actual anniversary. It was great. We arrived early so it wasn't super crowded and we had excellent service from Leticia. Food was great! The only reason I took 1 star away was the bread. We thought some kind of crusty French bread would be better with oil and vinegar instead of white bread. The ambiance was excellent for an anniversary dinner, the flowers and candles were a nice touch and everyone we came in contact with was great!
Service was incredibly friendly and food was pretty good. This restaurant has a very classic and romantic atmosphere. Definitely a great date night spot.
My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant. It's a tradition to go anytime we're visiting Big Bear Lake. I can't believe I've never written a review before and I apologize for not doing this sooner. Our server Harmony, was awesome. She was very attentive and pleasant. It was a crazy holiday weekend and very busy. We planned ahead and made reservations for my husband's birthday. The Chicken Marsala is always difficult not to order. It's fantastic. The Seafood Bouillabaisse was phenomenal. Couldn't stop talking about it. It paired nicely with the Justin Cabernet. We absolutely enjoyed our experience at Peppercorn Grille once again. Thank you for being DOG friendly!! Every time we have come here we've had our dog with us out on the patio. It's been a great experience every time. I appreciate the owners Julia and Mike, for continuing to keep the consistency of their service and most importantly, their excellent food. Thank you!
This was classy restaurant in the middle of Big Bear Village. A nice restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Although the decor was classy and white tablecloth, the attire is casual, so don't feel like you need to dress up when dining here. The service is attentive and friendly. It was a pretty extensive menu and the food was well above average. Keep in mind the portions are all very generous and very heavy. Most entrees come with starters (soup or salad) and lots of bread, so you'll definitely get full. There is a dedicated parking lot for the restaurant in front.
The burgers and sandwiches are about $22-25. The burger was nice and juicy, sandwich a little dry but ok. Sides are ok, potato wedges are crispy. Chicken caesar salad comes with a rain of parmesan, like how you get from olive garden. It's alright. Food are all about average but presented nicely. Lemonade iced tea (aka arnold palmer) is nice and refreshing. Best thing is you get free refill. On a hot day, yes! We chose patio seating since we brought our dog. They don't have dog menu but brought water bowl for him. We got him chicken breast unseasoned. $10 The staffs were so nice but there were so many flies. They brought out the rotating thingy that kept the flies away when for a while, but they were pretty resilient when the food arrived. They sat & walked on the food and refused to be shooed. Luckily so far no food poisoning.
I ate here yesterday and I was very pleased with my meal. The bread is super soft and warm and I appreciate that the butter comes room temperature so that it doesn't tear my bread up cold out of the fridge! The clam chowder was out of this world( I could have ate 2 bowls with the bread lol) and my favorite. My chicken cordon bleu was delicious and I switched the penne for angel hair pasta. It was too rich for me, but I still enjoyed it! The entrees take a little long since it's made fresh to order which the menu states that. They had a good mix of music playing that I enjoyed and I had a nice table by the window looking onto the patio. Street parking was cool but they do have their own parking lot that has their name on some of the spaces. I parked right in front of the restaurant on the street and walked around by the lake & village and came back for dinner. Staff is friendly!
What a delicious dining experience! They provided us with complimetary bread which was so fresh and soft and paired well with the butter they provided. The tomato soup and clam chowder were both great and a nice introduction to our meal. I had the fettuccine alfredo which was creamy and tasty. I also had their shrimp and scallop scampi which was good but needed more flavor. The service was excellent and our waiter Jordan was exceptional, very attentive and friendly. Parking is limited especially during peak hours. The ambiance is romantic and I like how they put flowers at each table.
